Irish Farriery Authority
| The Irish Farriery Authority was established in March 1999, in response to E.U. directives, stipulating that authorities on farriery be set up in each E.U. State. This however was not the sole reason for its inception. The Irish Farriery Authority was also given responsibility to: • Establish an Irish School of Farriery • Educate & train apprentices attending the school & to certify their competence in farriery. • Promote farriery, support farriers and provide the opportunity for continuing education. • Provide seminars and training for horse owners. • Provide training for foreign farriers | |
| The Irish Farriery Authority consists of representatives from both the Thoroughbred and the non-Thoroughbred sectors of the horse industry. | |
