IRISH SCHOOL OF FARRIERY

The Irish School of Farriery located at the RACE Campus on the outskirts of Kildare town was established in 2003 to provide structured training for Irish farriery apprentices and continuing education for practising farriers.

This apprenticeship consists of four on-the-job phases with an approved employer and three off-the-job phases at the school. Apprentices will be invited to attend their off-the-training phases in accordance with the SOLAS scheduling system.

The overall duration of this apprenticeship is a minimum of 4 years provided all phases are successfully completed. On successful completion of the programme the learner is awarded a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Farriery.
